Parent Stories
Hear what other parents have had to say about our therapy sessions.

Jodie – Mum to Niamh
“Maxine is an absolute star. She has such a positive presence, keeps you in the loop every step of the way and has done an incredible job at giving our little one the confidence to use her voice.”

Ami – Mum to Oli
“We have been attending the Early Years language group with Sally and have loved the activities she has created for the children. She has an amazing way of keeping the children engaged and it’s amazing when we hear our son use some of the words we will have used in the group that week, at home and in context! It’s also lovely to be with other parents who just “get it”, really lovely group.”
Kara – Mum to Solly
“Our experience with our SLP has been outstanding. She has really helped identify how our son learns language and so then how best to help him. She works tirelessly with him and the school to ensure he has the best chance of success and gives amazing updates on what’s going on, things we can try, progress being made. Definitely goes above and beyond and really cares. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend wholeheartedly. Especially if your child is a GESTALT language processor. This is not understood enough by mainstream and should be.”

“Zoe from MTW comes into our pre school on a weekly basis to work with our children. She is extremely knowledgeable and plans stimulating and fun activities for the children. She offers support and advice to both staff and parents. Zoe always goes above and beyond answering our questions, finding appropriate resources and supporting the children to make as much progress as possible. Its clear she really cares about the children and has a great passion for her job. The wider team at MTW also support us in ensuring we are getting the best from the sessions and are happy with the service we receive. I would highly recommend MTW.”
Megan – Mum to Casey
“We’ve had 12 speech therapy sessions with Maxine and I am so thrilled with all the progress my son (aged 4) has made over the last few months. The sessions are really fun and the tasks can easily be done in between sessions. Maxine did a really detailed assessment discussed with me what I wanted to achieve from the sessions, my priority was for his friends and teachers to understand him when he starts school and I feel we have definitely achieved that.
Before we started, I had no idea how Maxine would teach my son how to pronounce words correctly but it’s so clever how it’s done. My son really enjoys his sessions, doing his ‘jobs’ and playing with all the games. Thank you Maxine.”
Alison – Mum to Joseph
“Our son, Joseph, first saw Caroline three and a half years ago when he was three. Joseph has a number of different needs including a learning disability, ADHD and, as we now know, a speech disorder. We felt that the service provided to us by the NHS in relation to Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) was not sufficient and were desperate to do everything we could to help our son reach his potential, whatever that may be. It is undoubtedly one of the best things we have ever done for Joseph to help him overcome his difficulties.
Joseph adores Caroline and looks forward to her visits from the moment he wakes up in the morning. She is always smiling, ready to share his cheeky humour and remembers his favourite sounds, activities etc. Josephs ADHS and other difficulties can make it quite a challenge to focus him and Caroline has been sat on, had his nose wiped on her (we think it is a sign of affection… sorry!) and various other things but she doesn’t seem to mind anything and takes it all in her stride.
Caroline has also worked well with his NHS SALT (on the few occasions he has actually had any input) and attended a Family Service Planning meeting to help his school and other professionals understand his speech and language needs.
Joseph’s speech is improving all the time and we often get comments from people who have not seen him for a while about the progress he is making. We are sure that this would not have happened if it were not for Caroline’s input. Thank you!”
Laura – Mum to Eva & Ellie
“Caroline first started working with my eldest daughter, who has Down’s syndrome and complex medical needs, a couple of years ago.
From the very beginning she helped her feel at ease and made the sessions fun.
Eva has made steady progress and I truly believe that without Caroline’s help and support we would not be as far forward as we are.
As a family we really appreciate Caroline’s help, so much so, she now works with my youngest daughter who also has Down syndrome. Both of the girls really enjoy seeing Caroline each week, the sessions are really good value for money and worth every penny as they are helping both of my girls reach their potential and reducing frustration as their communication skills improve.
I would highly recommend MTW – Speech and Language Therapy to anybody looking for speech therapy for their child.”
Claire – Mum to Esme
“I cannot thank MTW enough for the help and support my daughter has been given in tackling her speech and language difficulties. She started with Sarah and continued with Hannah, both of whom were endlessly patient, enthusiastic and positive.
My daughter has loved her sessions with Hannah in school and as a result has improved remarkably in her ability to speak clearly and confidently which in turn has really helped her social skills. She has also become more interested in the things going on around her and more questioning of them which has been lovely to see.
Additionally, she has become less repetitive as she is able to express herself more easily and generally has a lot more to say! Thanks again, we are so pleased!”
Sharon – Mum to Milo
“My son is struggling with his speech sounds. I knew my son needed more help so when my friend recommended MTW I contacted them. I’m glad we didn’t wait because they identified my son as having speech dyspraxia.
MTW are fantastic! My son really likes his therapist too which helps. I really like how professional MTW are. They have a good structure to the sessions and feedback to me after each week. They came round to meet us all before therapy started which put me at ease and when I saw them with my son I knew he would enjoy the sessions.
Having extra therapy helps school staff to support my son because they learn through therapy too. They can learn what to do to help.
I can see the progress that I am paying for and I like that they go into school. In the holidays they come home to us so that I can learn how to help my son too.”
